On February 29, 2024, the world lost a remarkable man, Ed Lynch, who passed away at the age of 76. Ed was a dedicated individual who touched the lives of many with his kindness and generosity.
Born on January 2, 1948, Ed had a passion for life that was evident in everything he did. He proudly served in the army during the Vietnam War, demonstrating his loyalty and bravery to his country. After his military service, Ed found joy in coaching softball for over 27 years, earning the title of "The Blue Team's Coach." He was known for helping not only his own children but also his many extended children to perfect the game of softball.
Ed's love for his community extended beyond the softball field. He was a familiar face at the Old Canal Restaurant, where he enjoyed spending time with friends. He was an Icon in Millersport. His caring and trusting nature meant he never knew a stranger and was always willing to lend a helping hand.
In addition to his career and community involvement, Ed was a die-hard Millersport Lakers fan who took pride in having played football for Millersport High School and graduating in 1967. His hobbies included collecting toy tractors, tending to his garden barefoot planting Lillies and Irises. He loved animals, feeding cats, rescuing "Midge the Pidge", and cherishing his beloved goat named "Dog." that was a great defender of Ed's porch.
Ed is survived by his loving children Tiffany (Freddy Clark) Lynch, Cheri (Derek) Weaver, Jill (Kevin) Schilling, Aaron (Joanna) Lynch, grandchildren Jenna (Todd) Conley, Seth (Mallory) Womax, Kayston (Jessica) Weaver, Kenlea (Travis) Turley, Cassondra (Sebastien Bateman) Schilling, Rebecka Schilling, Brantson Schilling, and Qohan Lynch. He is also survived by great-grandchildren Hayden, Lily, Liam, Dawson, Aiden, Miriam, Arlen with two more on the way.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents Kenneth and Anna Mary Lynch, grandchild Victoria Mouzon, and great-grandchild Aaliyah Mouzon. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A funeral service to honor Ed's life will be held on Tuesday March 5th at 10:30AM at the Johnson-Smith Funeral Home in Baltimore, 207 S. Main St. Baltimore, OH 43105. Military Honors will follow at Millersport Cemetery. He is being buried at the cemetery that he loved to mow. Family and friends may visit on Monday from 3PM until 7PM . May we find solace in remembering the legacy of kindness and warmth that Ed leaves behind.
