Dr. Lemke
Dr. William Donald Lemke 74 of Lancaster, Ohio passed away Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at the Pickering House. He was born in Akron, Ohio to the late William Frederick and Rosalie Easter Wolfe Lemke.
William followed a tradition of his grandfather, W. D. Wolfe that of becoming a research chemist. William graduated from Cuyahoga Falls High School Class of 1955 and attended The Ohio State University earning both undergraduate and his PHD in Chemical Engineering.
He worked for DuPont Company and settled on working as a Drug Researcher for the State of Ohio. He also earned his Eagle Status as an Engle Scout. He served in the U.S. Army working as a research of Biological Weapons at Edgewood, Maryland. William and Phyllis are best known for their many years of ballroom dancing. They did travel and William was an avid reader.
He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Lemke; two special children, Shelly Ruff Boring of Lancaster, Ohio and Dan Ruff of Shelbyville, Kentucky along with their families and brother John M. Lemke of Georgia.
Caring Cremation has taken place by the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 405 N. COLUMBUS ST., LANCASTER, OHIO 43130.
