Dr. Kathy Buxie, PhD

Dr. Kathy M. Buxie PhD 65 of Lancaster, Ohio went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, September 8, 2016 at Homestead Care and Rehabilitation Center. She was born on September 18, 1950 in Mitchell, South Dakota.

She was a Professor of Mathematics for Ohio University Lancaster with 18 years of service and a graduate of MidAmerica Nazarene University where she also taught for 18 years. She was a member of Gateway Nazarene Church and Math Association member.

Kathy is survived by her loving husband of 43 years, Joseph Buxie; daughter, Deborah (Michael) Jasiczek of Olathe, Kansas; son, Daniel Buxie of Olathe, Kansas; parents, Maynard and Shirley Ness of Mitchell, South Dakota; Brothers, Rev. David (Joy) Ness of Seattle, Washington and Dr. William (Helen) Ness PhD of Olathe, Kansas; sister, Julie (David) Jamison of Huntsville, Alabama; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at 5:00 p.m. at Gateway Nazarene Church, 2150 Joye Lane, Lancaster, Ohio 43130 with Rev. David Ness officiating. Caring Cremation® to follow the service. Friends may visit Tuesday, from 5-8 p.m. at the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 405 N. COLUMBUS ST., LANCASTER, OHIO 43130 and 1 hour prior the service at the church on Wednesday.
