Doyle M. Darst, born on February 13, 1934, in Meigs County, Ohio, peacefully departed from this world on April 18, 2025, at home, surrounded by love, on Good Friday. His life was one marked by devotion and joy, both in his career and his faith.
Doyle dedicated many years as a machinist at Boeing and previously at Rockwell. Yet, it was his deep commitment to his faith that truly defined him. As a devout clergy member, he worked tirelessly to evangelize and share the teachings of God. His unwavering faith was a pillar in his life, reflecting his proudest accomplishment of living by the heart of Isaiah 54:17.
The warmth of Doyle’s personality was unmatched. He carried with him an amazing spirit, illuminated by his contagious laughter, making any space brighter. Those who knew him can fondly recall how he teased his loved ones, especially the kids, with a twinkle in his eye that showed just how much he cherished them. He was ornery yet always funny, a wild spirit in his youth who brought endless joy and laughter wherever he went. His playful nature and lighthearted humor will leave a permanent mark in the hearts of all who were blessed to call him family and friend.
Doyle was the loving husband of 48 years to his devoted wife, whose love and partnership stood as a testament to their beautiful life together. He was surrounded by a vibrant family, consisting of his sons, Dwain M. Darst Sr., Daniel (Flora) Darst, Donald (Kelly) Darst, and Shawn Darst. He also adored his daughters, Doretha Cryola, Donna Marie Smith, Deboroah Marlene Garbino, and Dorinda Maxine Graf, along with his daughter-in-law, Shanna McNally. Doyle's legacy continues through his 28 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren, each of whom he loved immensely. He also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, and extended family, who will carry his memory forward.
While his heart was filled with love for his family, it also bore the sorrow of loss. He was preceded in death by his son, William McNally; his daughter Angel Marie McNally, his parents, George Dayton Darst and Rosa Nell Jacks Darst; and his siblings, Drexell, Delbert, and Darrell Darst, and Mae Rentzl. They, too, were woven into the fabric of his life, and he held them close even after they departed.
A visitation to celebrate Doyle’s remarkable life will take place on Thursday April 24, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and again from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the New Life Christian Center at 2642 Columbus-Lancaster Rd.
