Douglas "Doug" L. Hite

Douglas “Doug” L. Hite, 66, of Thurston, passed away on May 31, 2024. He was born to Russell and Jo Ann Hite on February 13, 1958 in Lancaster, OH.

Doug married the love of his life, Cindy Hite, on September 17, 1994. He served as a fire fighter in Lancaster for 25 years, and was a member of the Thurston Volunteer Fire Fighters from 1978-1993. Doug was also a lifetime member of the Central Ohio Antique Fire Apparatus Association.

He is survived by his wife, Cindy Hite; mother, Jo Ann Hite; aunt, Carol (Richard) Markwood; nieces, Michelle (Alan) Roth and Mysti (Jamie Carroll) Wilson; and brother-in-law, Jon (Linda) Hiles.

He is preceded in death by his father, Russell Hite; and brother, Jeffry Hite.

A funeral officiated by Richard Boucher will take place on Friday, June 7, 2024 at 1:30 PM in the JOHNSON-SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 207 S Main St., Baltimore, OH 43105. Burial will follow in Primative Baptist Cemetery, Thurston. Family and friends may visit from 5-8 PM on Thursday at the funeral Home.
