Doug Lash

George Douglas Lash, age 58, of McArthur went to be with the Lord on August 3rd, 2017 at Mercy Hospital in Cincinnati. He was born on January 30th, 1959 to the late George and Essie Perry Lash. Doug worked as a Rural U.S. Mail Carrier for 30+ years and was also a Volunteer Firefighter in Vinton County. He enjoyed being the voice of the Vinton County Vikings, announcing football games for 39 years. Doug was an amazing man who anyone could look up to, never one to get upset, nor hold a grudge. He helped out anyone in need and always did the right thing. He greatly loved his family and enjoyed spending as much time as possible with them. Countless residents of McArthur, friends, family, colleagues, and all who rallied around Doug in his time of need, will greatly miss him and everything he did for the community.
