Dorsie Lewis III

Dorsie "Bub" Lewis III, 50, a lifelong resident of Lancaster, Ohio, passed away at Fairfield Medical Center on May 12, 2023 surrounded by loving family members after a courageous battle with cancer. Dorsie was born on December 17, 1972 in Lancaster, Ohio to Dorsie Lewis Jr and Alva Mowery Lewis. He graduated from Lancaster High School.

He enjoyed writing poetry and exhibited his artistic talent from a young age with many drawings, paintings, crafting and writings. If you needed a babysitter, you knew you could call Bub. He was an 'Old Soul' and loved everyone.

Dorsie retired from Glass Floss in Lancaster, Ohio at the onset of his disability. He volunteered at VFW Post 1380 in Lancaster Ohio.

He is survived by his wife, Madonna Kunkler Lewis; daughter, Daisie Lewis Godwin and son, Adam Lewis; sisters, Angela Hetzer, Karen Lewis and Trisha Cooper; father-in-law, Patrick H. (Jeannie) Kunkler; brothers-in-law Patrick (Loretta) Kunkler and Earl Kunkler; three grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

Dorsie is preceded in death by his parents; grandparents, Dorsie and Betty (Anderson) Lewis, Virgil and Alberta 'Becky' Alford Mowery; mother-in-law, Mary Jane Woodside Kunkler, as well as numerous aunts and uncles.

Caring Cremation® is being handled by the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERL HOME AND CREMATORY, LANCASTER, OHIO 43130.  A Celebration of Life will be held at the VFW Post 1380 in Lancaster, Ohio on Sunday June 25, 2023 at 2:00 PM. Online condolences can be made at www.funeralhome.com
