Family gatherings happened often as it was what she loved the most in life. Her daughters, grandchildren and great grandchildren were her greatest joys. She enjoyed showing her love through her cooking, whether it be holiday meals, birthday dinners, or a pie just because. Her pets, Minnie and Mocha Jo, always brought her so much joy. She enjoyed watching and feeding the birds and loved to sit outside and enjoy the sunshine when the weather allowed. She was an avid Ohio State football fan.

Along with her late husband, Dorothy was proceeded in death by her parents, William and Mamie Bethel. Her brothers, Lewis "Popeye"", Robert "Sut" and Jerry "Jake", her sisters Nancy, Betty and Ruth, and niece, Stacy Fairchild.
