Dorothy R. (Copen) Duffman 87 of Lancaster, Ohio former resident of Dunbar, West Virginia went to be with her Lord on Friday, December 8, 2017 at Homestead Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born in Charleston, West Virginia on May 26, 1930 to the late Archie and Rosa M. Hughes Crowder.
She was a retired medical transcriptionist for Fairfield Medical Center.
Dorothy was a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church, longtime church organist and pianist, member of the Friendly Sixties, Nursing Home Visitation Ministry and Son Shine Club.
She is survived by her sons, Roy (Hazel) Copen of Bremen, Ohio and David (Debra) Copen of Pickerington, Ohio; daughter, Laura (Kelly) Kirk of Circleville, Ohio; 10 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren; brothers, Archie R. (Betty) Crowder of St. Albans, West Virginia and Sherley L. (Betty) Crowder of Marysville, Ohio and many nieces and nephews.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Robert A. Duffman, son, Carl Copen, grandson, Craig Copen and her parents.
Funeral service will be held Monday, December 11, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at Lighthouse Baptist Church with Pastor Phillip Manning officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Rose Cemetery. Friends may visit Sunday from 2-5 p.m. at the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 405 N. COLUMBUS ST., LANCASTER, OHIO 43130 and 1 hour prior to the service Monday at the church.
