Baltimore - Doris Jane “Janie” Parrish, age 79 of Baltimore, went to her heavenly home on Tuesday, March 5, 2024, after a very courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
Janie was born on December 4, 1944 to the late Charles and Emma Myers, Sr. Janie was a charter member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, the Baltimore VFW, and the Millersport American Legion. She and her late husband, Gene, were the owners/operator’s of the Millersport Marathon which they sold, and Janie then retired from Redeemer Lutheran Preschool and Child Care. Her amazing personality and love for life will be greatly missed. Janie always said, “It is in God’s hands.”
Janie is survived by her loving daughter/niece Leah (Matt) Armstrong; grandson/great nephew Zach Armstrong; brother Mark Myers; sisters Carolyn Clark, Charlotte Hedges, and Ann (Dave Dixon) Thompson; sister-in-law Sherry Myers; and many nieces and nephews.
Janie was preceded in death by the love of her life Gene Parrish; her parents; brothers Charles “Chuck” Myers, Jr. and Clarence Myers; mother and father-in-law Vernon and Mildred Parrish; sister-in-law Carolyn Parrish; and nieces Rhonda and Sharla Hedges.

A funeral service will take place on Tuesday, March 12, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 1400 Concordia Dr. Lancaster, OH 43130, officiated by Rev. Dr. John Davidson. Family and friends may call from 2PM - 4PM and 6PM - 8PM on Monday, March 11, 2024 at the Johnson-Smith Funeral Home, Baltimore, OH; as well as one hour prior to the service at Redeemer Lutheran Church. Interment will be in Floral Hills Memory Gardens.
