Doran Edward Nester, 85, of Newark, passed away on December 19, 2020. He was born in Three Fork, WV to the late Roy and Gertrude Nester on December 1, 1935.
Doran was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force. He was a two time president of the Buckeye Lake Fraternal Order of the Eagles, and coached soccer for Liberty Union Schools. Doran loved to read the Bible, and was strong in his Christian faith. He loved his children and grandchildren, and to reach out and talk with friends.
Doran is survived by his daughter, Amy Hosom; grandchildren, Ashley Correllus, Cory Hosom, Kyle Nester, Madison Nester, and Jacob Grimmett; great grandchildren, Xavier Sanchez, Brady Correllus, Michaela Correllus, Trenton Hosom, and Kenslie Hosom; siblings, Donald (Arzella) Nester, Bill (Carol) Nester, Brenda (Jim) Wentz, and Martha (Larry) Harmon; several nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.
He is preceded in death by his daughter, Angela Nester; son, Roy Nester; sisters, Linda Nester, Dreama (Charles) Hockman, Helen (Paul) Pugh, and Ruth (Roger) Osborne; brother, Douglass Nester; and parents.
A funeral service officiated by pastor William Cook will take place at 2 PM on Saturday, December 26, 2020 at the FRANK E. SMITH FUENRAL HOME, 405 N. Columbus St., Lancaster, OH, 43130. Family and friends may visit from 12-2 PM at the funeral home on Saturday. The service will be live streamed on the Frank E. Smith Funeral Home Facebook page. In accordance with State mandates, COVID Protocols including facial coverings and social distancing will be followed.
