Donna Bowers

Donna J. Bowers, 86, of Lancaster, passed away on Sunday, April 21, 2013, at the Fairfield Medical Center. Donna was born January 26, 1927, in Baltimore to the late Roy S. and Amy V. Whittington.

Donna was a member of Sixth Avenue United Methodist Church. She loved gardening and growing flowers. She was a former member of the Lancaster Motorcycle Club.

Donna is survived by her son, Harley Michael (Charlotte) Bowers; daughter, Rita M. (Tony) Bennett; grandchildren, Jason (Julie) Bowers, Joshua (fiancé Rebecca) Bowers, Samuel (Melissa) Bennett, Benjamin (Janelle) Bennett, and Bonnie Bennett; great grandchildren, Novelly O’Dell, Jenna and Jesse Bowers, and Blake, Jillian, Noah, and Alexis Bennett; and sister-in-law, Ruth Bowers.

Donna was preceded in death her husband, Harley M. Bowers; brothers, Abe Whittington and John Whittington; and sister, Joann Armstrong.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday at the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME, Lancaster with Pastor Rick Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Rockbridge. Family and friends may visit from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Donations may be made in memory of Donna to the Sixth Avenue United Methodist Church, 1004 W. Sixth Ave, Lancaster, Ohio 43130.
