Donald Stump, 88, passed away on Saturday, December 22, 2018 at the Fairfield Medical Center. He was born September 29, 1930 in Rockbridge to the late Vinton and Alice (Ogg) Stump.
Donald served our nation from 1951 to 1953 as an Army medic in the Korean War. He also served as letter carrier for the United States Postal Service. He was the Corresponding Secretary for Branch 340 National Association of Letter Carriers. He retired from USPS in 1985 after 31 years. He was member and board member of: Bremen Holiness Church, Tarlton Bible Covenant Church, and Marion Wesleyan Methodist Church. A constant attendee at the Clinton Camp in Clinton, PA and Mount Gilead Camp, Cardington.
Donald is survived by his wife, Audrey Stump; brother-in-law, Edgar (Martha) Bryan; son, Stephen (Holly) Stump; daughter, Ruth (Jesse) Garven; daughter-in-law, Debbie Stump; grandchildren, Alli (Tommy Good) Kisker, Jaimie (Gabe Rodrigquez) Stump, Timothy (Desi) Garven, Rebekah Garven, Dalton (Brittany) Stump, Halley (Jeff) Graham, and Alicia (Kevin Behrens) Williams; great grandchildren Bailey, Colin, Dakoda, Ella, Kohen, Oaklee, Lillee, and Kinsley; many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Helen Stump; son, James Stump; father-and-mother-in-law, Clyde and Ruth (Coldwell) Bryan; and brother, Francis Stump.
A funeral service will take place on Friday, December 28, 2018 at 12:00pm at the Bremen Holiness Church, 1300 Mt Zwingli Rd SE, Bremen, Oh, 43107. Military honors and burial will follow the service at West Rushville Cemetery.
Family and Friends may pay their respects at the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 405 N. Columbus St., Lancaster, Oh, 43130 on Thursday December 27, 2018 from 2 to 4 PM and 6 to 8 PM, and again one hour prior to the funeral service at the church.
Memorials can be made in Donald’s memory to either the Bremen Holiness Church or FairHoPe Hospice.
