Donald Reid, Jr

Donald Boid Reid, Jr, 63, of Lancaster, passed away on Thursday, August, 7, 2014 at Mount Carmel Hospital.

Donald was a lifelong resident of Lancaster. He loved music and playing the guitar. He was a very active member of the Church of Jesus Christ in Lancaster. He lived to serve the Lord and helped guide others to serve as well. He also loved the Buckeyes. He will be remembered for his Father’s Day Lunch tradition and as “Skinny Papaw”, a name given to him by his granddaughter, Haley, that always made him smile.

Donald is survived by his daughters, Renée (David) Hyde and Theresa Brown; sons, Bo (fiance, Nikki) Reid and Jeff Reid; longtime friend, Eileen Todd; step sons, Daniel (Jennifer) Wheeling and David (Carrie) Wheeling; many grandchildren; and special companion, Chessie.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents, Pat and Donald Boid Reid, Sr.; brother, Bill Reid; and sister, Barbara Reid.

Funeral service for Donald will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday at the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME, Lancaster with Pastor Gary Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery. Family and friends may visit from 5 to 7 pm Monday at the funeral home.

Donations can be made in memory of Donald to the Church of Jesus Christ, 784 Lambton Circle, Lancaster, Ohio 43130.
