Donald Huffman

Donald Wayne Huffman, 95, of Lancaster, went to be with his Lord on Sunday, January 12, 2014.

Donald was born March 23, 1918 in Puritian, Ohio to the late Inez (Newman) and Wayne Edward Huffman. He was a 1936 graduate of Hamden High School and lived a number of years with his grandparents, George and Mahale Newman. After the death of his first wife, Pauline Mae (Trainer) Huffman, Donald moved to Wellston in 1970. He was employed with the Kalamazoo Stove Co., the Parchment Paper Co., and had a T.V. Repair shop on Pennsylvania Ave in Welston. He also worked for the GTE Phone Co. in Jackson, Ohio and retired from GTE in 1981.

Donald was preceded in death by his first wife, Pauline and wife, Mona Lea Huffman in March 2013; parents; sons, Donald Wayne Huffman Jr., Mac Lamar Huffman, and Vaughn Larue Huffman; sister, Thelma Dee Bethel of Hamden, Ohio; and brothers, John O. Huffman and Vaughn H. Huffman both of Wellston.

Donald is survived by his daughter, Paulette (David) Smith of Dunedin, Florida and grandsons, Rick, Joshua, and Jason Smith; Mona’s daughter, Joan D. (John) Hager of Amanda, Ohio and son, Dana K. (Janie) Smith of Wellston and grandchildren, Kim, Dana, Shannon, Jeffrey, Jodie, Jenny, Jonathan, and Debbie; several great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

At Donald’s request cremation has taken place with the Frank E. Smith Funeral Home, Lancaster and a private family service will be held.
