Donald Claypool

Donald C. Claypool, 90, of Lancaster passed away on Friday, July 24, 2015, at Fairfield Medical Center. Donald was born on April 7, 1925, in Lancaster to the late Clark and Prudence (Jackson) Claypool.

Donald was a lifelong dairy farmer. He was a 1943 graduate of Lancaster High School. He was a member of Grace United Church of Christ. Donald was a 47 year member of the Amanda Lions Club and he was also a member of the Farm Bureau - Councils #19 and #33.

Donald is survived by his wife of 66 years, Juanita (Bowers) Claypool; sons, Dan (Linda) Claypool, Tim (Nancy) Claypool, and David Claypool; grandson, Jason (Michelle) Claypool; and great granddaughters, Ashley and Carley Claypool.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Dorothy Claypool Schieser; and brothers, J. Robert “Bob” Claypool and Howard L. Claypool.

Funeral service will be held at 1:30 PM Tuesday at Grace United Church of Christ, 1185 Pleasantville Rd, Lancaster, Ohio 43130, with Reverend Mindy Quellhorst officiating. Burial will follow in Green Mound Cemetery, Lancaster. Friends may visit from 2-4 and 6-8 PM Monday at the Frank E. Smith Funeral Home, Lancaster and 1 hour prior to the service at the church.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Grace United Church of Christ or the National Kidney Foundation.
