Donald C. Miller 80 of Lancaster, Ohio passed away Friday, June 17, 2011 at the Pickering House. He was born on May 17, 1931 to the late Chester and Louvella Wickham Miller.
He was a Korean Conflict veteran serving in the US Navy. He retired from Rockwell International Corp. in Columbus, Ohio as a machinist and Bay’s Food Market on Maple Street.
Don was a founding member of St. Mark Catholic Church where he served as an Alter Server, third grade teacher and Parish Council member. He was a 3rd Degree Knight of Columbus Council 1016 where he served many years as an outside guard and lifetime member of the AMVETS.
He is survived by his wife, Vivian E. Miller; 2 daughters, Donna (Bob) Reid and Judy (Kean) McGill; 2 sons, Carl Miller and Jerry Miller all of Lancaster, Ohio; step-children, Ronnie Meade of Huston, Texas, Tom Tyler of Bonham, Texas, Bob Tyler of Uvalde, Texas, Patty Vannoy of Stoutsville, Ohio, and Bill Tyler of Zanesville, Ohio; 20 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren; brother, John (Geri) Miller of Amanda, Ohio; 8 brothers-in-law, 6 sisters-in-law, many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Kathy Ann Miller, brothers, Paul Miller, Jim Miller, and Chester Miller, and sister, Alberta Foltz.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, June 22, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mark Catholic Church with Father Peter Gideon as celebrant. Burial to follow in St. Mary Cemetery following the service. The Lancaster Ohio Veterans Burial Squad will conduct military rites at the cemetery.
