Donald Benson

Donald E. Benson, 64, of Lancaster, passed away at his home on Saturday, August 8, 2015.

Donald worked for Ralston Foods and he retired from Toxco / Retriev Technologies. He was an avid outdoorsman and woodworker.

Donald is survived by his wife, Trudi Benson; children, James “J.B.” (Stacy) Benson, Rhyan (Leesa) Benson, Dustyn (Traci) Benson, Corey Benson, and Allyssa Benson; 12 grandchildren; sister, June Smith; sister-in-law, Holly (Greg) Stegman; aunt, Helen Downard; and a large loving family of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents. Ardra and Clara Benson and James and Polly Polen; brother, James Benson; grandchildren, Jeffrey James Benson and Airez Dalton Benson; niece, Carrie Smith; and brother-in-law, Keith Smith.

A memorial service will be held at 6:30 PM Monday at Grace United Church of Christ, 1185 Pleasantville Rd, Lancaster, Ohio 43130 with Reverend Mindy Quellhorst officiating. A gathering for family and friends will follow the service at the church. Caring Cremation has taken place with the Frank E. Smith Funeral Home, Lancaster.

The family requests no flowers and would rather have donations made in memory of Donald to the family to assist with funeral expenses, FairHoPe Hospice, 282 Sells Rd, Lancaster, Ohio 43130, or to Cancer Treatment Centers of America through the Gateway for Cancer Research, 1336 Basswood Rd, Schaumberg, IL 60173.
