Dianne K. Mitchell

Dianne K. Mitchell passed away peacefully in her home on Tuesday, January 30, 2024, at the wonderful age of 86. Dianne was born in Pickerington, Ohio in 1937, the eldest of four siblings.  Shortly after graduating from Lancaster High School in 1955 she met and married Dale, the love of her life.  Together they started their family, raised three children, and spent 67 years together as partners and best friends.

Dianne had a special talent for people. She was at ease striking up a conversation with a new acquaintance. Making, and keeping, new friends came naturally for her. She seemed to know everyone. Dianne loved to travel, loved to golf and was a member of The First United Methodist Church. Both were passions that she shared with her husband. But her favorite activity was to spend time with her family, especially for holidays and special occasions.  Spouse, children, siblings, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and the extended family; all welcomed and all loved.

Dianne was an eternal optimist. Always looking forward to the next outing or gathering. Always flashing her trademark smile. She knew the future was bright.

Dianne is survived by her loving husband Dale; her daughter Rebecca Mitchell Dobson and husband Chris of Orlando, FL; her son Michael Mitchell and wife Julie of Lewisburg, PA; and her son Steven Mitchell and wife Tammy of New Lexington, OH.

She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Levi, Lance, Casandra, Brittany, Garrett, Alec and Abby, and ten great-grandchildren, Kerry, Kaleena, Corrine, Lucy, Avery, Oliver, Emma, Asher, Adelaide, and John-Henry.

She is additionally survived by her two sisters, Linda Beery and husband Paul of Lancaster, OH, Judy Beery and husband Jake of Newark, OH, and her brother Rick Torrence and wife Mindy of Painter, VA.

The family gives special thanks to the staff at The Grove at Trelago in Maitland, FL for working tirelessly and with so much love to create a home for Dianne for nearly the past two years.

Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 7, 2024 at 1:00 pm at FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL, 405 N. COLUMBUS ST., LANCASTER, OHIO 43130. A live broadcast of the funeral service will be hosted on Wednesday, February 7, 2024 at 1:00 pm on the Frank E. Smith Funeral Home and Crematory Facebook page.  Burial will follow at Floral Hills Memory Gardens.  An opportunity for reflection and remembrance will begin at 11:00 am, two hours prior to the service.
