Dessie Walls

Dessie B. “Granny” Walls, 90, of Lancaster, passed away on Thursday, November 30, 2017, surrounded by her loving family. She was born June 14, 1927, in Long Bottom, Ohio to the late Everett and Flossie Petty.

Dessie was the matriarch and heart of her large family. She always had a smile and was loved and known as “Granny” by all who knew her. She was also a member of the Rushville Church of Christ in Christian Union.

Dessie is survived by her children, Dianna and David Downs, Barbara and Michael Lanning, Terry L. Headley, James and Marlana Walls, and Penny and Charles Riley; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.

Dessie was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil Walls.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM Monday at the Frank E. Smith Funeral Home, Lancaster. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens, Lancaster. Family and friends may visit from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM Sunday at the funeral home.
