Dennis Clarke

Dennis G. Clarke, age 67, of Lancaster, passed away February 4th, 2017 at the Pickering House. He was born to the late Robert and Grace Clarke, on October 23rd, 1949 in Chicago, IL. Dennis owned and operated his own restoration and painting company in Lancaster, who specialized in restorative work on historic facilities. Dennis’s work was second to none. He volunteered with the Fairfield Heritage Association, was a past YMCA Board member, enjoyed history and was an all around American. Dennis enjoyed life to the fullest and will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and community.

He was survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Lynn Norman Clarke; grandchildren, Lauren of Lancaster and Addison Weber of Lincoln, IL; brothers, Gregory Clarke of Lancaster, and Stephen Clarke, of Lombard, IL; brother-in-law, Seth (Miya) Norman; sisters-in-law, Karen (Kenneth) Goff and Kathy Clarke of Geneva, IL; and many nieces and nephews.
Dennis was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Kari; brothers, Phillip and Brian Clarke.

The family would like to give a special thanks to the Pickering House and FairHoPe Hospice, Dr. Robert Merrit and his team, the 18th floor of the James, and Misty, Hillary, and Stacey from Care Tenders.

A memorial service will take place on Saturday at 11AM at the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME, officiated by Rev. Cheryl Foulk. Family and friends may call from 9AM until the time of service on Saturday. Caring Cremation™ has taken place and Dennis’s cremains will be buried at Forest Rose Cemetery at a later date.
