Lancaster

Denise Deime McGuire, age 64,  a radiant soul cherished by many, peacefully passed away at home on February 12, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born on March 2, 1960, in Lancaster, Ohio, Denise's life was a mosaic of love, kindness, and dedication.

A proud graduate of Fisher Catholic High School in 1978, Denise was not only a talented cheerleader but also a skilled musician who played the French horn and piano. Her spirited nature was well-reflected during her years at Ohio University, where she embraced her identity as a Bobcat. For over 35 years, Denise devoted her life to teaching, beginning her journey at St. Rose Elementary in New Lexington, before retiring as a beloved fifth-grade teacher at St. Bernadette. Her influence on her students was profound, as she was not just an educator but a mentor and friend who truly cared.

Denise's warmth and cheerful disposition lit up every room, and her positivity remained unwavering throughout her life. She had an innate ability to put others before herself, always seeking to ensure the happiness of those around her. A loving mother and grandmother, she took immense pride in her family. Her fondest memories were made during family trips to the Outer Banks, which brought joy and laughter to her life. During the holidays, she delighted in decorating her home with trinkets, creating a festive atmosphere that radiated love and joy.

Denise's legacy continues through her loving husband of 33 years, Mike McGuire, and their cherished children, son Shea McGuire and daughter Marcie (Dylan) Sharp. She adored her granddaughters, Mia and Ella McGuire, who were the light of her world. She is further survived by her dear siblings, Beth (Rick) Miller, Linda Pulsinelli, Paul Deime, Perry (Dan Moder) Deime, and her beloved mother, Bernice Deime. Denise will also be remembered fondly by several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and -nephews, cousins, and a multitude of great friends whose lives she touched.

Preceding Denise in death was her father, Bill Deime. As we remember Denise, we celebrate a life rich with love and compassion, where she never met a stranger and made friends wherever she went. Her enchanting smile and positive outlook will forever be etched in the hearts of those who loved her dearly.

Denise’s spirit will continue to inspire all who knew her, reminding us to cherish our loved ones and spread kindness in every moment.
