Della D. Varney 85 of Lancaster, Ohio died Monday, July 8, 2013 at Crestview Manor Rehabilitation Center.
She operated Dee Beauty Shop in Columbus prior to her retiring and then working for Grant Medical Center in the gift shop. She was a member of the Scioto Ridge united Methodist Church and was a volunteer for First Community Nursing Home.
She is survived by her son, Paul Varney of Florida; grandchildren, Brad (Tina) Varney of Laurelville, Ohio, Christina Hutchinson of Pataskala, Ohio, Cory Varney, Carrie Varney and Paige Varney all of Hilliard, Ohio; three great grandchildren; sisters, Dora Kowalewicz of Atlanta, Georgia, Betty (Robert) Rowe of Michigan and Mae Gilkerson of Cincinnati, Ohio; daughter-in-law, Linda Varney of Hilliard, Ohio, many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Varney, daughter, Frances Varney, parents, Acie and Frances Hensley, four brothers and two sisters.
Caring Cremation® has taken place by the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 405 N. COLUMBUS ST., LANCATSER, OHIO 43130. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, July 17, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Glen Rest Memorial Estates.
