Debora L. Magnuson, a devoted teaching assistant beloved for her unwavering commitment to special needs children, passed away peacefully on March 18, 2025, at Kenton Nursing and Rehab in Kenton, Ohio, at the age of 76. Born on August 4, 1948, in the quaint town of Jefferson, Ohio, Debora’s life was one illuminated by love, warmth, and an indomitable spirit.

Throughout her career, she brought light into the lives of her students at Longview in Urbana, nurturing those with special needs with unmatched patience and compassion. She was always there for all of her kids, creating a nurturing environment that encouraged growth and learning, a testament to her character and devotion. Her kindness and sweetness were not lost on anyone who had the privilege of knowing her; she was, without a doubt, a great person all around.

Beyond her nurturing profession, Debora's life was rich with hobbies and interests. She found joy in the delicate art of crochet and sewing, her fingers deftly bringing life to myriad creations. A figure roller skating enthusiast, she glided through life with grace and flair. The organ echoed the melodies of her heart, resonating with the love she poured into every note. Above all, Debora cherished the time spent with her family, a true reflection of the love that defined her existence. She lived for her husband, the late Dick Magnuson, with whom she shared forty beautiful years, and together they created a legacy of love that will endure through the ages.

Her culinary talents were equally praiseworthy; Debora loved to cook, infusing a touch of sweetness into every dish she prepared. Those fortunate enough to savor her cooking often remarked that everything tasted like dessert, a true testament to her knack for transforming meals into cherished experiences.

Debora leaves behind a loving family, including her children Bill (Natalya) Magnuson, Bob (Erica Burdette) Magnuson, Ben (Carrie) Magnuson, Brandee Magnuson, Tammy (Jason) Williams, and Darren (Lisa) Brock. She was also a proud grandmother and great-grandmother, enriching the lives of many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her affectionate bonds extended to her sister Connie (Earl) Joos, brother Lewis (Jan) Mattson, and several nieces and nephews, mirroring the love and care she nurtured throughout her life.

Though her departure marks a profound loss, Debora’s spirit and the memories she created will forever linger in the hearts of those she touched. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Dick, and her great-granddaughter Katie Magnuson, both of whom now rest alongside her.

A graveside service to honor her memory will be held on March 31, 2025, at 1PM at Union Evangelical Cemetery on Snyder Church Road in Baltimore, Ohio, where family and friends are invited to gather in celebration of her remarkable life and the legacy of love she leaves behind.
