David A. Schaffner

David A. Schaffner 86 of Reynoldsburg, Ohio passed away on Saturday, December 10, 2022 at Wesley Ridge.  He was a graduate of Liberty Union High School Class of 1955 and a graduate of West Virgina Wesleyan College Class of 1963.

He was a US Army veteran and a retired manager of International Paper.  He was a member of St. Michael’s United Church of Christ and Baltimore VFW Post 3761.  David liked to volunteer at the VFW for their breakfast events.  He also loved to play golf.

David is survived by daughters Kristin (Brian) Flanagan of Baltimore, Ohio and Kerri (Mark) Rander of Minnesota; son Jason (Holly) Schaffner of Arizona; seven grandchildren and one great grandchild; brother Hugh Schaffner of Baltimore, Ohio and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Russell and Helen Schaffner, brothers Richard and Jack Schaffner, sister Jean Higgins and a sister-in-law Janet Schaffner.

Funeral service will be held Thursday, December 15, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. in the JOHNSON-SMITH FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL, 207 S. MAIN ST., BALTIMORE, OHIO 43105 with Rev. Dr. William Nirote and Rev. Jill Dunlap officiating.  Burial will follow in St. Michael’s Cemetery, Baltimore, Ohio.  Friends may visit Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home and 1 hour prior to the service on Thursday.
