David L. Phillips, age 66, of Lancaster died July 16th, 2014 at OSU Medical Center. He was born in Junior, WV on September 30th, 1947 to Howard and Dorothy Sturms Phillips. He served his country in the Ohio Air National Gaurd and was in Korea, during the Pueblo Crisis. David retired after 28 years as a Lieutenant at Firehouse #2 in Lancaster. After retirement, he worked for Bob Boyd for 10 years in the parts department. David attended Faith Memorial Church and he was also a classic car enthusiast. He will be greatly missed.
David is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Janice L. Phillips; son, Craig Phillips, both of Lancaster; sisters, Charlotte (Gale) Hill of Grove City and Bonnie (Tony) Delph of Amanda; bro-in-law, Randy (Marry) Hutchison and Tim (Julie) Hutchison all of Lancaster; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his son, Capt. Marquis D. Phillips a Columbus firefighter and his parents.
A service will take place on Tuesday at 10:30AM at Faith Memorial Church 2610 W. Fair Ave. Lancaster Oh 43130. Burial will follow the service at Floral Hills Memorial Garden. Family and friends may call at the church on Monday from 2PM until 4PM and 6PM until 8PM. Arrangements have been through the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME.
