David Gompf

David R. Gompf 71 of Chillicothe, Ohio former resident of Lancaster, Ohio passed away Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at his residence. He was born on July 31, 1945 in Lancaster, Ohio to the late Robert and Thelma Allen Gompf.

He worked for Anchor Hocking Glass Corp. in the lab and then later for Certified Oil. He liked to tinker around the house with many different projects.

David is survived by his wife of 51 years, Louise Gompf; children, Alan Gompf of Lancaster, Ohio, Danny Gompf of Chillicothe, Ohio, Wendy Monett of Columbus, Ohio and Tina Gompf of Chillicothe, Ohio; 17 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and grandson, Brice Monett.

Funeral service will be held Monday, August 22, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. in the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL, 405 N. COLUMBUS ST., LANCASTER, OHIO 43130. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Lancaster, Ohio. Friend s may visit Sunday from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be given to the family c/o the funeral home.
