David Thomas Brown, 75 Passed away on October 10th in the driveway of his home. He had a massive heart attack and died immediately. The son of John G and Rosalyn June Brown of Marysville, Ohio. David was born at White Cross Hospital in 1946. He grew up helping his family on Brownridge Dairy Farm in Marysville, Ohio. Graduated from Raymond High school in 1965. He attended Bowling Green State University majoring in Finance. David was a 22 Year Army veteran serving in Vietnam and Desert Storm for the 1st Infantry Division. Duty Stations included Ft. Sill Oklahoma, Fort Richardson Alaska, Fort Stewart Georgia, Heidelberg Germany, Stuttgart Germany, Columbus Ohio recruiting station and Garlstadt Germany. He retired from the army in April of 1993. After Retiring from the Army he worked at Honda, Scotts and Aerosafe, finally retiring for good in 2014.
David was well traveled, he had visited 30 countries and all 50 states, some thru his military service but most with His wife Barbara and children. When he retired they bought a fifth wheel and drove it all over Canada and the United States. Their first trip with it was a 13 week trip to Alaska. Barbara and Dave would spend the winters in their fifth wheel Camper they called their “Little slice of heaven” volunteering for the Army Corp of Engineers at several locations in Texas and at Warren Wills Church camp in Florida.
David spent the last several years working with his sons to restore his 1937 International D2 Pickup. He loved laboring on the truck and spent 2 summers stripping it down and rebuilding it. The Truck recently won Best in Class at the 2021 International Truck show Nationals in Springfield Ohio.
David is survived by his Loving wife Barbara Joyce, two sons James Yuri (Jodi) Brown and Joshua David (Rhiana) Brown and 3 granddaughters Jaime 35, Rylan 17, and Kendall 13. His sister Barbara Ann Brown of Dublin. His Sister in laws Patricia (James) Berry of Grand Rapids Ohio, Sharon (Jerry) Sproul of Ft Wayne, Indiana and Sandra (Randy) Graichen of Ypsilanti Michigan. He was preceded in death by his Parents John and June Brown, brother, John G Brown III, Father in law and mother in law John and Faith Lamson.
A funeral service will take place on Thursday at 10:30AM at the Frank E. Smith Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery in Columbus.
