Daniel George Agosta 77 of Lancaster, Ohio died Monday, June 23, 2014 at the Pickering House. He was born on April 2, 1937, in Lancaster, Ohio and graduated from Lancaster High School in 1956. Danny served two years in the US Marine Corps and retired from Anchor Hocking Glass Corporation with 34 years of service.
Danny was a member of AMVETS Local #1985 and the FOE #2120. He loved to golf, play pool, and draw pictures to give to friends and family. Danny never knew a stranger.
Danny is survived by his wife of 54 years, Betty (Alvis) Agosta, two daughters, Jodi Agosta and Toni (Tracy) Kraner of Lancaster, and by grandchildren, Vance (Bethany) Kraner, Ross Kraner, and Lillian Kraner all of Lancaster, Ohio; one great-grandchild, George Kraner; brothers, Pat (Flora) Agosta, Neal (Mary Jo) Agosta, and Dwayne Agosta, and twin sister, Donna (Dean) Kitchen.
He was preceded in death by parents, Mike and Dona (Mattox) Agosta, brothers, Veto, Charles, Paul, and Robert Agosta, sisters, Mary Brown, Lena Groff, Virginia Staten, Alvera Dickson, and special niece, Greta Westhoven.
A memorial service will be held Friday, June 27, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. at Sixth Avenue United Methodist Church, 1004 W. Sixth Ave., Lancaster, Ohio 43130 with Rev. Rick Jones officiating. Caring cremation® has taken place by the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 405 N. COLUMBUS ST., LANCASTER, OHIO 43130.
