Dale Strohm

Dale L. Strohm, 79, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Sunday, August 6, 2017, after a short illness and surrounded by his loving family. Dale was born July 24, 1938 in Lancaster to the late, Garland A. and Georgia C. Strohm.

Dale served in the U.S. Air Force. He was a member of First United Methodist Church and Olivedale Senior Citizens. He retired from Ralcorp.

Dale’s first love was his wife, Joy and his family. He also loved flying (VSR pilots license), golf (he had two holes in one), bowling, and photography.

Dale is survived by his children, Kyle Lee (Meike) Strohm and Lori Ann Tabar; special step-daughters, Susan (Stephen) Schmelzer and Sandy (Jeff) Kilbarger; sister, June E. Jones of Plano, TX; grandchildren, Aaron Strohm, Alex Strohm, Jesica Tabar, Luke (Abby) Schmelzer, Leah Schmelzer, Nathan (Alison) Helser, and Andrew (Jessica) Helser; and great grandchildren, Nicholas, Miley, Logan, Kyle, Skylar, Bristol, and Brinlee.

Dale was preceded in death by the love of his life, Joy (Hampton) Strohm; his parents; son-in-law, Michael Tabar; and brothers, G. Robert Strohm and Donald A. Strohm.

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday at the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME, Lancaster with Reverend Cheryl Foulk officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens, Lancaster with Veterans honors by the Lancaster Veterans Burial Detail. Family and friends may visit from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.
