Dale E. Snyder, 31, of Pleasantville, passed away suddenly at his home on Sept 8th, 2018. Dale was a 2005 Lancaster High school graduate and a 2006 graduate of Hocking College. He worked for Ohio Auto Club (AAA) as a tow truck operator and light service tech for 11 years. While at AAA he earned driver of the year and completed towing and roadside assistance courses. He was a member of Good Shepard Church Lancaster.
Dale is survived by his children, December, Eli, Levi, Robert, and Kylee all of the home. Parents, father, Randy (Carolyn) Snyder of Lancaster and mother, Dorothy Hallenbeck of Lenior, NC; brothers, Joseph (Megan) Snyder of Laurelville and Justin (Jodi) Snyder of Lancaster and sisters, Brandi (Sean) Platt of North Carolina and Kim Stewart of Lancaster; nieces, Annabelle, Addison, Lexi, Gabriella, and Madison, special uncle Bruce of Lancaster, several aunts, uncles, and cousins in Ohio, New York, and Florida. Also buddies Camden, Jordan, Nate, Billy, Brittany McCafferty (buddies forever) and furry buddy Izzy. Preceded in death by grandparents, Dale and Joyce Snyder, Dorothy and Vernon Hurd, David and Glory Briggs, uncles Gary Snyder and Robert Briggs.
In high school, Dale earned 4 Varsity “L” letters where he participated in wrestling and football. He was also in 4H where he went to Ohio State Fair to compete in food cooking completion. There he represented Fairfield County.
Dale’s life was his children. He devoted every minute of every day to them. His children were his most prized possession. Dale felt as if he hit the lottery on each day that one of his children was born. He enjoyed fishing with his children and brother’s family, riding his quad, and building derby cars. His oldest children would help and even practice driving them. To my babies, “daddy loves you and will watch over you from above, while paw paw will watch over you on earth”, love Daddy.
Dale had hundreds of friends on facebook and in the real world. He never met a stranger. Everywhere he went, he knew someone. Dale would always refer to size as, “I’m just fluffy”, while patting his belly.
Dale devoted his life to God and by doing so he ws passing that on to his children.
TO MY SON: “I promise to help take care of your babies and when they fall, I will pick them back up like you would. When they need a hug from daddy I will squeeze them extra hard, so they will know it’s from both of us. Most of all Dale , I promise, I will let your babies know you loved them more than anything in the world.
Dale, I was proud of you. You worked hard, you took care of your babies, and you gave them a safe home to live in. Dale, I love you.” –Dad.
A special thanks to the Pleasantville Fire Dept. for the care they showed his children until we could get there, and the time they spent with the rest of his family. The Fairfield County Sheriff Dept. and Paul B. from the coroner's office also for the respect, care, concern for the family, and grace during this trying time.
