Dale Edward Mitchell

Dale Edward Mitchell passed away at his home peacefully on July 29, 2024 in Maitland, Florida at the age of 94 years old. Dale was born January 1, 1930 in Mt. Perry, Ohio. He joined the US Air Force after high school and served for six years. He later retired from the US Air Force through his service in the US Air Force Reserves. Dale also retired from Anchor Hocking Glass Corporation after 30 years of dedicated employment as the Payroll Manager.

He enjoyed spending time with Dianne and his extended family. He spent his retirement traveling, golfing, playing cards with friends and vacationing at Hilton Head Island. Dale was a member of The First United Methodist Church.

Dale is preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Dianne. He is survived by his three children; his daughter Rebecca Mitchell Dobson and husband Chris of Orlando, Florida; his son Michael Mitchell and wife Julia of Lewisburg, Pennsylvania; and his son Steven Mitchell and wife Tammy of Somerset, Ohio. Dale is also survived by seven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. Additionally, he is survived by his brother Larry Mitchell of Palm Desert, California.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 9, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL, 405 N. COLUMBUS ST., LANCASTER, OHIO 43130 with Rev. Kathleen Kinser officiating. A live broadcast of the funeral service will be hosted on Friday, August 9, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. on the Frank E. Smith Funeral Home and Crematory Facebook page.  Burial will follow at Floral Hill Memory Gardens with the Lancaster Veterans Burial Detail conducting military rites at the cemetery. An opportunity for reflection and remembrance will begin at 11:00 am, two hours prior to the service.
