Creta Morehead

Creta Morehead passed away at Fairfield Medical Center on Monday, April 9th, 2018. Creta was born in Roseville, OH, to the late Blair and Kathleen Hockingberry. She was a graduate of Glenford High School and the 3-B School of Cosmetology in Newark, Ohio. A member of the First United Methodist Church, she lived and worked in the Lancaster area for sixty years as the proprietor of her personal business, Creta’s Beauty Salon.

She is survived by her son, Craig Allen Morehead of HI. sisters; Mrs. Bill (Garnett) Baker of Crooksville, Mrs. Roy (Sue) Mercer of Jerusalem, Ms. Lynda Coble of Woodsfield, and Mrs. Roger (Pamela) Wise of Baltimore.

She was preceded in death by her parents. son, Curtis Morehead. bothers; Denny Hockingberry of Columbus, Benny Hockingberry of Zanesville, Larry Hockingberry of Newark, and Dale Hockingberry of Zanesville.

A service will be held on Thursday, April 12th at the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 405 N. Columbus St., Lancaster, OH 43130, at 6 pm officiated by Rev. Cheryl Foulk. Friends and family may call from 3-6pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Creta’s name to the Aladdin Shriners Hospital for Children, 3850 Stelzer Rd.
