Corrine Draper

March 14, 1932 — November 8, 2017

Corrine F. Draper, 85, of Carroll, OH, went to hold her babies in heaven, on November 8, 2017.

Born Mar 14, 1932, she dearly loved her home state of VT and her face lit up when talking about her youth there. Corrine embraced life, thrived on having her family around her, and selflessly cared for them. Corrine was devoted to her church, New Hope A/G, where she was a loving presence for almost 50 years. As a Sunday school teacher for over 25 years, former students would often fondly reminisce on her earlier influence. Her 20+ years of ‘service’ as a military spouse was a great source of pride, but she later loved her quiet, country life. Watching the woodpeckers at her feeders, and does with fawns wandering through her yard, thrilled her. Good food, games, and watching cooking shows and Judge Judy, were some of her favorite things in later life. She had a giving heart, was intelligent, opinionated, and a brand snob who loved getting a great bargain. Corrine was a quiet force of personality who left a lasting impression.

Corrine leaves behind her devoted husband of 64 years, Charles ‘Chuck’ Draper, who she affectionately called Bob, and her dear fur-babies Paco and Tito. Loving children, Paula (Dennis) Grigsby of Lake Worth, FL, Sherri (Mickey) McGuire, Jodi (Terry) White, and Robert (Judy) Draper, all of Lancaster, OH. Grandchildren, Joel (Laura) McGuire, Melissa Nutter, Shad Draper (who she lovingly raised), Drew Zaar, Dominick (Emily) Draper, and Miranda Draper, plus 9 great-grandchildren. Brothers Leo (Lynda) Blair, Paul (Sue) Blair, niece Laurie (Jeremy) Bachand, nephews Lee Blair, and Travis Blair, all of VT.

She was preceded in death by infant twin boys, parents Leo Blair of VT, Freda and Kenneth Carpenter of VT, and sister Dorothy Veronese of CT.

Visitation at the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 405 N Columbus St, Lancaster, OH, will be on Sunday, Nov 19, 2:00-4:00, and on Monday, Nov 20, 1:00-2:00, followed by chapel and graveside service. Corrine would love for donations to be made in her memory to the Fairfield Area Humane Society, 1721 Granville Pike, Lancaster, OH.
