Clyde Howard Grossarth, Jr. 86, died at his residence in Lancaster, OH on Thursday, March 13, 2025.
He was born February 25, 1939 in Bellevue, PA. Clyde was a 1957 graduate of the Avonworth High School in Ben Avon, PA. He was a three year veteran of the U.S. Army 82nd airborne division. He joined the U.S. Department of Defense where he worked for the next 32 years, mostly with the Defense Logistics Agency, retiring as a Computer Specialist Instructor. He also worked at various times as a farm hand, mechanic, machinist, and commercial truck driver with a class A CDL. Clyde was a member of the NRA, longtime member of the American Legion, and a charter life member of the American Motorcycle Association.
Clyde is survived by his beloved wife of 60 plus years Shirley Dianne (Hutt) Grossarth; daughter Rebecca of Bremen, OH; son Sean (Crystal) of Lancaster, OH; grandchildren; great grandchildren; and brother Stephen (Pat) of Sewickley, PA.
He was preceded in death by his father Clyde Howard Grossarth, Sr. and mother Flora MacColl (Van Vranken) Grossarth.
