Clarence Fowler Jr

Clarence Fowler Jr., 92, of Lancaster, Ohio, died peacefully on April 23, 2018 at the Pickering House. He was born on April 11, 1926 to the late Lela Mae (nee Underwood) and Clarence Fowler Sr. in Canal Winchester, OH.

Clarence enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corps and served during WWII. He married Marcelett Hiatt on February 24, 1950 in Carroll, Ohio. After moving to Lancaster, Ohio, Clarence worked for the U.S. Postal Service as a rural letter carrier until his retirement.

He is survived by his wife, Marcelett; daughter, Jan (Tom) Rogers of New Albany, Ohio; sister, Ruth Hales of Upper Arlington, Ohio; grandchildren, Aron (Angela) Rogers of Bexley, Ohio, Annie (Tony) Damceski of Lewis Center, Ohio; and four great-grandchildren, Ella Marie Rogers, Gabrielle Ann Damceski, Owen Thomas Damceski, and Clara Mae Rogers.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Wayne Fowler; and great granddaughter, Mila Elaine Damceski.

A funeral service will be held at 4 P.M. on Sunday, April 29, 2018 at the Grace United Church of Christ, 1185 Pleasantville Rd, Lancaster, OH 43130, with Reverend Mindy Quellhorst, and Reverend Robert Tussing officiating. Friends and family may visit from 2 P.M. until the time of service on Sunday. A reception in the church social room will immediately follow the funeral service. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Clarence’s life. Caring Cremation will follow the service through the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME. Burial at Floral Hills Memory Gardens will take place at a later date.
