Charles “Chuck” Pendleton of Lancaster, age 84, died peacefully, February 16, 2017, at Crestview Rehabilitation.
Parents, Bedford Pendleton, a Veteran of WW I, and Lucy Pendleton of Jonesville, Virginia.
He is survived by his wife, Susan (Blosser) Pendleton; daughter, Jill L. Pendleton; son, Kevin S. (Carol) Pendleton; grandchildren, Sarah (Curtis) Witham, Levi (Nicole) Pendleton, Jacob Pendleton; also “bonus” grandchildren, Shannon and Phalen Shaw; and great grandchildren, Colton, Lilyanna, and Caleb.
Also surviving, sister, Maurice Hobbs; brother, Billy Joe Pendleton; sister-in-law, Louise Pendleton; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Bonnie, Virginia, and Estelle; and brothers, Virgus, Morris, Jack, and Jimmy.
He attended two years of business college. He worked hard, sometimes at two jobs to support his young family, after leaving the military.
Chuck was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, serving on the DEW Line in Alaska, during the Korean War. He was a member of the AMVETS and the American Legion.
After retiring from Alton’s Foundry, he greatly enjoyed golfing with his buddies and camping. When no longer able to golf due to health, he enjoyed playing the lottery.
A memorial service will be held at 12:00 PM Wednesday at the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME, Lancaster with Pastor David Long-Higgins officiating. Friends may visit Wednesday from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the funeral home. Caring Cremation has taken place.
