Charles “Chuck” H. Meckley, age 74, of Lancaster, passed on January 12, 2016 at the Pickering House with his family at his side. He was born June 21st, 1941 in Elyria, OH to the late Henry and Marie DeCarlo Meckley. Chuck previously taught at Franklin University and retired from Grant Medical Center as a Bio Med Technician. He was an Air Force Veteran who also served in the Army Reserves. Chuck loved to pilot airplanes and ride his Harley. He will be greatly missed.
Chuck is survived by his loving wife, Janet McCrady Meckley; sons, John (Stephanie) Meckley and David (Courtney) Meckley of Georgia; daughter, Kelley (Tim) Bauman of Sugar Grove; grandchildren, Josh, Julia, Jacob, and Sophia; sister, Mary Lou (Dr. Jack) Golski of Elyria; brothers-in-law, Jeff (Sally) McCrady, John (Mel) McCrady, and Joe (Mary) McCrady; and several nieces and nephews.
Chuck was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, John and Jimmy Meckley and father and mother-in-law, John and Flo McCrady.
Caring Cremation™ has taken place through the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME. A celebration of Chucks life will take place at a later date.
