Charles D. McCandlish

Charles D. McCandlish, age 94 of Baltimore, died peacefully at his residence surrounded by his family on May 20th, 2021.  He was born to the late L.G. and Ida Fisher McCandlish on Sept. 10, 1926 in Richland Twp.  He loved his life as a farmer and was proud of the fact he was born and raised in the area.  He greatly enjoyed walking his land, gardening, and spending time with his family. He will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his two daughters, Brenda (Jeffrey) Metzger and Charla (Edward) Hilbert; grandchildren, David Abbott, Craig Morningstar, Chuck McCandlish,  Emily (Charles) Fout, Chris Gaskill, Michael Metzger, and Sarah Metzger; 9 Great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and beloved dog Chloe.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Terry McCandlish; and brothers Neal and Paul Edward McCandlish.

A funeral service will take place at 10AM on Tuesday, May 25th at the Johnson-Smith Funeral Home, officiated by Pastor Clayton Warren.  Burial will follow at Zion Ridge Cemetery.  Family and friends may call on Monday from 5PM until 8PM at the funeral home.  Donations can be made in Charles' name to FairHope Hospice, 282 Sells Rd.
