Charles May

Charles D. May, 73, of Thurston, formerly of Lancaster, passed away on Friday, June 10, 2016, at the Pickering House.

He was a member of Lighthouse Memorial Church in Millersport. He loved music and playing music. He also enjoyed fishing. He was a longtime member of the Lancaster Sertoma Club.

Charles is survived by his wife of 54 years, Carolyn R. May; children, Marcia (Chris) George, Brenda Gorsuch, Russell (Chris) May, and Andrew (Jennifer) May; grandchildren, Kathryn Gorsuch, Mary Francis Gorsuch, Michael May, Melody Larson, Race May, Jude May, and Reuben May; and great grandchildren, Grace May and Aria Burishkin.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Vesta and Russell May and brothers, Howard Jarrell, Herman Jarrell, and Don Jarrell.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday at Lighthouse Memorial Church, 2600 Walnut Rd, Millersport, Ohio 43046 with Pastor Bill Beard officiating. Burial will follow in Union Evangelical Cemetery, Baltimore. Friends may visit from 2-4 and 6-8 Monday at the FRANK E. SMIH FUNERAL HOME, 405 N. Columbus St, Lancaster, Ohio 43130.

Donations may be made in memory of Charles to FairHoPe Hospice, 282 Sells Rd, Lancaster, Ohio 43130.
