Catherine Louise (Young) McGraw

Catherine Louise (Young) McGraw 86 of Lancaster, Ohio passed away on Saturday, May 13, 2023 at her residence.

She was a graduate of Ohio University Lancaster Branch and later retired from Amanda-Clearcreek School District as an elementary school teacher.

Louise was a member of the Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church of Hamburg along with being the church organist for over 50 years.  She was a member of the State and Local Retired Teachers, loved gardening, basket making, sewing, cooking and traveling with her late husband Frank.  Louise also volunteered for the Lutheran Food Pantry.

She is survived by her daughter, Cheryl S. McGraw of Moscow, Tennessee; sons, Robert E. (Teresa) McGraw of Carroll, Douglas A. (Kimberly) McGraw and Dale V. McGraw all of Lancaster; eight beloved grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; sisters, Roberta (James) Lewis of Glenshaw, Pennsylvania and Linda Young of Washington, Pennsylvania and several nieces and nephews.

Louise was preceded in death by her husband, Frank “Peanut” Edward McGraw, parents, Robert and Margaret (Taylor) Young, sister, Carol Testor, grandson, Jamaica McGraw and daughter-in-law, Cathy McGraw.

Funeral service will be held Thursday, May 18, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. at Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church of Hamburg with burial to follow at Hamburg Cemetery. Friends may visit Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 405 N. COLUMBUS ST., LANCASTER, OHIO 43130 and 1 hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday.
