Carol Wood

Carol Wood, age 87 of Lancaster, formerly of McKeesport, PA passed away Friday June, 15th, 2012 at Primrose Retirement Community. She was born to Lawrence E. and Dorothy James Pitzer on February, 11th, 1925 at McKeesport, PA She was a member of the First Evangelical Free Church in McKeesport, PA. She was a University of Pittsburgh Graduate where she was a member of the Phi Mu Sorority. She taught French and Spanish for 25 plus years at Serra Catholic High School in McKeesport.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Robert H. Wood of Lancaster, OH formerly of McKeesport, PA; sons, Gary (Beth) Wood of Carroll, OH, Eric Wood of Baku, Azerbaijan, and Brian Wood of Vacaville, CA; daughter, Barabra Dascomb of DePew, NY; Phylis (Kirk) Smith of Houston, TX, and Margery (Chris) Zearley of Tuscon, AZ; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brother, Lawrence E. (Judy) Pitzer of Etowah, NC; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and sister, Margery Maser.
Caring Cremation has taken place through the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME in Lancaster, OH. A memorial service will take place at a later date in McKeesport, PA.
