Carl “Pood” Bell, age 80 of Lancaster, died March 26, 2017 at Crestview Nursing and Rehabilitation. Carl was born in Rockbridge, on October 30, 1936 to the late, William and Bessie (Carpenter) Bell. He retired after 32 years from Anchor Hocking where he was a Supervisor of Data Processing. After he retired from AnchorHocking, he was a consultant for Danison Monumental Works. Carl was a man of many talents, that loved to tinker. He never found a piece of wood he couldn’t save. Carl will be greatly missed by his friends and family.
Carl is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Delores I. Bell; daughter, Juli (Steve) Dilley; son, Jeff Bell; grandchildren, Travis Dilley, Zachary Bell, and Brooke (David Burkholder) Bell; great grandchild, Chance Burkholder; sisters, Helen Wentz and Gladys Vagnier; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Carl is preceded in death by his brothers, Beryl and Earl, Clyde, Danzel, and Harold Bell; and sisters, Edna Smith, Mary Schmelzer, and Ruth Landers.
A funeral service will take place on Thursday At 1:30PM at the Frank E. Smith Funeral Home, officiated by Pastor Roger Quay. Burial will follow the service at Betzer Cemetery.
