C. Joy Strohm

C. Joy Strohm, 74, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Wednesday, November
18th at the Pickering House with the love of her life, Dale Strohm.

Joy was born June 21, 1941 to Charles and Mildred Hampton in Coshocton County.

Joy was retired from Diamond Power, Inc. after 25 years of service. Most recently she retired from
Service Master Facility after 16 years of service.

Joy was a member of the First United Methodist Church and Olivedale Senior Citizens. Joy enjoyed
her flowers, reading, but most of all her family.

Joy was preceded in death by her father, Charles; step-mother, Mercedes; brother, Ralph; and first
husband, Jack Boyer.

Joy is survived by the love of her life, Dale L. Strohm; special daughters, Susan (Stephen) Schmelzer
and Sandy (Jeff) Kilbarger; special grandchildren, Luke (Abby) Schmelzer, Leah (Jerry) Schmelzer,
Nathan (Alison) Helser, and Andrew (Jessica) Helser; special great-grandchildren, Nicholas and Miley
Schmelzer, her namesake, Skylar Joyanna Bellville, Logan and Kyle Hesler, Maddie and Morgan
Pennington, and Bristol Williams; brother, Jack (Carrie) Hampton; stepchildren, Kyle (Mieke) Strohm
and Lori (Mike) Tabar; step-grandchildren, Aaron and Alex Strohm, and Jessica Tabar; and
special friends, Bob and Marci Miesse and Todd, Elizabeth and Vivian George.

Special thanks to friends and neighbors at Roxton Ravine. Special thanks to FairHoPe Hospice for
your love and care of Joy, especially Mitch and Carla.

The funeral service will be held on Monday, November 23, 2015 at 11 a.m. at the Frank E. Smith
Funeral Home, 405 N. Columbus St. in Lancaster with Reverend Cheryl Foulk officiating. Burial will
follow the service at Floral Hills Memory Gardens, Lancaster. Friends and family may visit from
2:00 to 5:00 PM on Sunday at the funeral home. Donations may be given in Joy’s memory to
FairHoPe Hospice at 282 Sells Road in Lancaster and First United Methodist Church Building Fund
at 163 E. Wheeling St. in Lancaster.
