Bobby Boice

Bobby Jim Boice of Lancaster, OH, passed away on July 20, 2012. He was the son of Fern Elizabeth Creighton and James Curtis Boice. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, M. Idell Boice of Lancaster, and three children: James Marc of Tampa, FL; Lisa An (Mrs. Peter Dessaules) of Norfolk, VA; and Laura Sue (Mrs. Kevin Wayne Williams), also of Lancaster. Bobby is also survived by 12 grand-children and 13 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by two sisters, Priscilla (Mrs. Joseph Conte), and Melinda Sue (Mrs. Laurence P. Serafini); his surviving sisters are Mary Elizabeth (Mrs. Howard Reese) of Lancaster; and Alice Louise (Mrs. Russell Rambo) of Phoenix, AZ; his brothers are John Edward Boice and Curtis Lee Boice, both of Lancaster.
Bobby Jim was born in Lancaster on August 6, 1924 and graduated from Lancaster High School in 1942, subsequently serving in the U.S. Navy 1943-1946. He was a member of the local Bricklayers, Masons, and Plasterers Union, and retired to Tampa, FL, from Anchor Glass Container Corp. in 1989.
Calling hours will be 5:30-7:30 p.m. on Thursday, August 9 at the Frank E. Smith Funeral Home. There will be a brief memorial service at 7:30.
