Billy W. Fanning

Billy W. Fanning, 86, of Thornville, passed away on Wednesday, September 12, 2018.

Billy was a member of Oakthorpe Church for many years and he was a member of the Patriot Lodge #496 F&AM for 68 years. He retired after 33 years as a printer with the Columbus Dispatch.

In his retirement years, he was able to pursue his true passion of traveling. He spent many years on the road delivering Airstream travel trailers throughout all the lower 48 states and lower Canadian provinces. Throughout Billy’s life and time on the road, he never met a stranger and enjoyed talking and sharing stories with everyone he met.

Billy is survived by the love of his life and wife of 63 years, Esther Fanning; children, Billy W. (Cathy) Fanning and Pamela Fanning; grandchildren, Sara (Samuel), Ryan (Nina), and Amanda (Rob); and four great grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held at 2:30 PM Sunday, September 16th at the JOHNSON-SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 207 S. Main St, Baltimore, Ohio 43105. Family and friends may visit from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM Saturday at the funeral home with a Masonic Service at 6:00 PM.

Donations may be made in memory of Billy to the Oakthorpe Church Building Fund, 6075 Oakthorpe Rd, Thornville, Ohio 43076.
