Bill W. Tucker, 87, of Baltimore, passed away on Wednesday, August 17, 2011, at the Pickering House surrounded by his family.
Bill was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ. He was a World War II veteran serving in the U.S. Navy. Bill was a 50+ year member of the Baltimore Masonic Lodge #475 F&AM. He was also a member of the Scottish Rite, Tarhe Shrine, and the Aladdin Shrine. He was a member of the Baltimore VFW Post# 3761. He was a former Baltimore council member, former chief of Liberty Township Fire Department, former superintendent of the Baltimore Parks, and former Baltimore Pool manager. Bill was a retired welder for Crown-Zellerbach Company.
Bill is survived by his wife of 64 years, E. Louise Tucker; daughter, Tana (Richard) Kagey; son, I. Timothy (Susan) Tucker; 7 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; sisters, Elsie Friesner, Kathryn Hickman, Betty Jeffers, and June (Ken) Holland; and many nieces and nephews.
Bill was preceded in death by his daughter, Treva Canfield; parents, Wilburn and Elsie Tucker; brothers, Donald Tucker and Fred Tucker; and sisters, Patsy McKensie and Josephine Reedy.
A memorial service will be held at 3:30 pm Saturday at the JOHNSON-SMITH FUNERAL HOME, with Reverend Jill Dunlap officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Baltimore. Friends may visit from 1:30 to 3:30 pm Saturday at the funeral home with a Masonic Service held at 3:00 pm. Caring Cremation has taken place.
