Billie “Bill” K. May, age 70 of Millersport, died November 18th, 2015 at the Pickering House. He was born in Matewan, WV on Feb. 27th, 1945 to the late Johney and Lula Smith May. Bill worked for Lucent Technologies for 35 years and retired as the Chief of Police in Millersport after 27 years. Bill also worked as a Fairfield County Sheriff’s Deputy. Bill’s extensive law enforcement career began after serving as a Vietnam Veteran in the US Air Force. Bill was a member of the Millersport American Legion and the Thornport Amvets. Bill was an amazing person who will greatly be missed. Bill is survived by his loving wife, Sue May of Millersport; daughter, Lori (Jenni) May-Matthews; granddaughter, Kyra Young; close nephew, Brian (Carie) McCoy, and sisters, Violet Akers, Betty McCoy, and Pauline Smith. Bill was preceded in death by his daughter, Brittany Irvin; brothers, Carson, Charles, Lee, James, Eddie, Jessie, Algie, and Roger May; and his parents. Family and friends may visit on Sunday from 1PM until 3PM at the JOHNSON–SMITH FUNERAL HOME. A service will follow at 3PM officiated by Rev. Jerry Wiles. A committal service will follow at the May residence by the Millersport American Legion Burial Detail. Caring Cremation® will follow the service.
