Betty Wilson

Betty Jane Wilson, age 89, of Pleasantville, passed away peacefully Tuesday, February 10, 2015, at Lanfair Center with family by her side. She was born November 26, 1925 to the late Harley and Dorothy Neeley of Pleasantville.

Betty was a 1943 graduate of Pleasantville High School. She retired from the JC Penney Company in 1987. She was a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was an avid Ohio State Buckeyes fan.

In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her brother, O. Nelson Neeley.

Betty is survived by her son, Robert (Becky) Wilson, of Charleston, WV; daughter, Sally (Lynn) McCandlish of Pleasantville; granddaughters, Amy (Leo) Guinan, Kelly (Devlin) Simpson, and Alison (Mike) Ryan; great grandsons, Xander and Henry Guinan; soon to be born, great granddaughter, Cora Simpson; step great granddaughters, Isabelle and Zoe Ryan; and sister-in-law, Hazel Neeley, of Farmington, NM.

Funeral service for Betty will be at 1:00 PM Saturday at the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME, Lancaster with burial to follow in Hampson Cemetery, Pleasantville. Friends may visit from 4 to 7 PM Friday at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Saturday.

The family would like to thank the staff at Lanfair Center and FairHoPe Hospice for the wonderful, loving care Betty received.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Betty may be made to FairHoPe Hospice or Pleasantville United Methodist Church.
