Betty Whitmore

Betty L. Whitmore 82 of Lancaster, Ohio passed away on Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at Fairfield Medical Center.

She was born in Nelsonville, Ohio on May 7, 1934 to the late George and Mary Klinebriel. She a member of Gateway Nazarene Church of the Nazarene, attended Faith Memorial Church and was a cook for Crestview Manor Nursing Home for many years.

Betty was one of twelve children and is survived by her husband of 64 years, Jack Whitmore; children, Deborah Whitmore and husband, George Bakewell of Mount Vernon, Ohio; Victoria (Mike) Wilkins of Tampa, Florida and Phillip (Amy) Whitmore of Circleville, Ohio; five grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren; sister, Catherine (George) Smith of California and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers and five sisters.

Funeral service will be held Friday, February 3, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. in the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL, 405 N. COLUMBUS ST., LANCASTER, OHIO 43130 with Pastor Mel Truex officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Nelsonville, Ohio. Friends may visit Thursday from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
